Privacy

Every recipe you save is private to your account. This is enforced by the database itself — a row-level rule that ties each recipe, plan, grocery list and cook log to your user id — not merely hidden in the app.

A recipe becomes visible to someone else only when you take an explicit action: creating a share link, or sending it to another Zaika user. You can revoke a share link at any time, and revoking stops both the recipe and its photo from loading.

Your email address, to sign you in. Zaika has no passwords — we email a six-digit code instead.

The recipes you save, including the source link, ingredients, steps, your own notes, and any photo attached to them.

Your cooking preferences — diet, regions, language, measurement style, appliances — used to shape what you see.

Your plans, grocery lists and cook history.

If you join the waitlist before launch, we store only your email address and, when you arrived from someone’s shared link, the referral code that brought you.

To turn a reel, video, post or photo into a recipe card, the content you point us at is sent to processing services: an AI provider that reads it into structured fields, and — for videos — a speech-to-text provider that transcribes the audio. They process it to return a result; Zaika does not send them your email address or your cookbook.

Parsed results are cached so that the same public link imported twice does not need to be processed twice. That cache holds the recipe extracted from a public source, and it is not readable by any user account.

We measure how the product is used so we can fix what is broken — screens reached, imports started and finished, whether a purchase was made. These events deliberately carry no recipe text, no links you imported, no search terms, and no email addresses.

Crash reports tell us when the app fails. Subscription status is handled by our payments provider; Zaika never sees or stores your card details.

You can delete your account from Settings. Deletion is not immediate on purpose: for 30 days your cookbook is kept so that signing back in restores it exactly as you left it — which is also what protects you if someone else requests deletion on your device. We email you when a deletion is scheduled and again if it is cancelled.

After that window, your account and everything in it are removed permanently.
